Me with Mandala, photo by: Junita

For the last couple of days, I have been binge-watched Orange is the New Black, an American serial television, which was suggested by my best friend, Tirta. To be honest, I have been encountered with unpleasant situations lately. I must admit I have some dilemmas, should I choose to survive or to resist?  In terms of deal with things, I suddenly had wanted to get signs in order to convince myself. I didn't care if it's from the sky or maybe someone. I just needed to make myself comfortable. And guess what? I have been touched by some lines from the dialogue between Yoga Jones and Chapman in the film. It was also funny yet mysterious because it happened right after I got "unfortunate situation". By looking at this context, I think universe seemingly speaks to me through the movie.

Yoga Jones: Do you know what a Mandala is?
Champan: Those are those around Buddhist art things
Yoga Jones: The Tibetan monks make them out of dyed sand, laid out into big beautiful designs. And when they’re done, after days or weeks of work, they wipe it all away.
Chapman: Wow… that’s a lot
Yoga Jones: Try to look at your experience here as a mandala, Chapman. Work hard to make something as meaningful and beautiful as you can. And when you’re done, pack it in and know it was all temporary. You have to remember that. It’s all temporary.
Chapman: It’s all temporary
Yoga Jones: I’m telling you. Surviving here is all about perspective
